Jeremiah Greer
University of Cincinnati
BS/MS Computer Science, 2019
Hello, my name is Jeremiah Greer, and I am a third year Computer Science major in the College of Engineering and Applied Science. I was born near Greensboro, North Carolina, but was raised in Florence, Kentucky. I graduated from Covington Catholic High School in 2014 and began my time with the University of Cincinnati in the fall of the same year.
I have worked in a research lab with Dr. Eric Rozier developing a entity resolution tool using Neo4j (a graph database) and Python. I currently co-op at Kinetic Vision developing VR applications using Unity. I will also soon begin working in research again with Dr. Rashmi Jha in the area of cybersecurity. In terms of academic interests, I look forward to doing research in the areas of machine learning and artificial intelligence, in addition to absorbing as much as I can in the areas of math and computer science. I also would like to eventually develop games or apps for smartphones and computers in my spare time some time in the near future. I am currently developing my first game for Android phones. Outside of math, computers, and academics in general, I really enjoy fantasy novels and movies, particularly Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. The Lord of the Rings books and movies are actually where most of my quotes are from. I also enjoy playing violin and bass guitar whenever I get a chance to. I also enjoy learning music theory and various musical concepts, and hope to one day create my own electronic music, ideally electronic music that is more somber and emotionally expressive. |
